(no subject)

So, I'm going to night shift near the end of this month and I had to talk to the LT. about the mini surgery and make sure he had enough people to cover me being out that night. The day before my surgery he doesn't. The reason I want the day off before is because I'm going to be taking something that's pretty much gonna keep me around the bathroom the whole day. So one of the girls at work said that she would switch me days so that I could have those two days off! Awesome yes?! I love my co-workers!:P

We were driving yesterday and my mom said that after she gets back we need to go out and eat because she doesn't spend enough time with me. I looked over at her and was like: "What?" As y'all know my mom is one of my best friends. We spend A LOT of time together. And then it hit me. Convo goes something like this:

"Are you talking about because I'm going to have surgery?"
"Now....I just think that we need to spend more time together."
"Mooom..."
*beat of silence and I look away then whip around when I hear a sniffle.
"MOM!"
And just like that the tears starts flowing. My mom can't help herself. She's like a leaky pipe. In retrospective I shouldn't have said what I said next.
"Even if I DO die it's not like you don't know what I want at my funeral. Besides...you just beat the same thing that I MIGHT have so you know it's not a death sentence."

Way to be brilliant Cheryl...way to be brilliant! *slaps forehead* I'm not good with tears. Besides I'm pretty sure I'm not going to die! And even if it is cancerous I'll be good! I'm really not stressing...I don't have time to. Like I told Vee...I'm trying to calm everyone else in the family done. My blood pressure is fine!:P

I think all moms have that tendency, it just comes in the job description. I know, my mom probably would have reacted the same. Anyway, may your surgery go well and we'll see you on the other side! :D

Yeah, I think so too! Although...I thought she might be a little calmer seeing as how she just went through it! But now that I think about it maybe that's why she is freakin' out!!

*hugs* I hope everything goes well, Cheryl! And I'm glad you let your mother coerce you into going to the doctor's.

Your mom is really going through a rough patch, isn't she? And from all of your descriptions, she sounds like the sweetest person in the world! Don't beat yourself up too much about the funeral comment though- Even if you hadn't said that, you know she was still thinking it! But then again, maybe I'm not the best person to be giving advice about that sort of thing. I say say regrettable things all the time.

She is! She's sooo freakin' sweet it's unreal! LOL!! Thanks Pen! She'll be fine! It's good that she has to work the day of my procedure(the kids of state tests so she can't take a sick day). She'd be out in the waiting room flipping out!

Me too! I've just felt so lethargic the last few days! I HATE that!
