Just finished making a cake. Waiting for it to cool so I can put some chocolate frosting on it! It smells good too! What's better than white cake with chocolate frosting? Well, I could name a FEW things but since the boys like it I'm not going to complain!:P
Can you believe it's almost 2009? I mean, wow! When I was growing up(I was born in '82 so I can sorta kinda say that!) I thought we'd have flying cars or something! Probably too many Jetson episodes(maybe Back to the Future movies too) or something. *shrug* And my sister will tell you I talk about it very frequently! I guess I'll just have to put that theory to rest! Although, as my sis said today: "We have a black president. Anything is possible now!" LOL!!
For me 2008 had a lot of changes:
~My mom got sick(cancer) but her chemo went well and although she's still struggling with the after effects of the chemo she's HERE and that's what matters.
~My sis got engaged and had a baby! A BABY! And even though I'm not all about kids I'm all about my niece.
~I moved from Indiana to Georgia and found a job that I actually like instead of a job that I just have because I NEED one.
~I got involved in a game that allowed me to meet new and interesting people.
~I've grown a lot as a person. Taken on more responsibility and grown closer to my fam.
~I actually got to SEE Obama get elected. I was an actual part of history.
Anyways, just in case I forget or fall asleep(after the whole family tradition of having six people on the phone to wish a happy new year) since I have to get up early to go to work tomorrow:
Happy New Year's everyone!!!! It's been a pleasure seeing, talking, chatting, sharing information with you. And may 2009 be at least half of what you want it to be!

Date: 2009-01-01 12:16 am (UTC)I'm so happy for your mom. Give her a hug for me (that sounds weird and stalkerish, I'm sure, but I'm really close to -my- mom so things like that are kind of normal for me) and YES, Obama! I am so, so excited for his inauguration! It's one thing when he's elected but when he's actually there, in the White House, being our President.... then it's something else. And I can't wait for him to show those racists who call him a terrorist what he can do. He's been there, he's been without money in a lower class household and he has worked his way up to become the first black man to become president. And no white man, especially not one who grew up surrounded by wealth, can even touch on that. ^^
Sorry for the ramble, I'm just so excited! :D HAPPY NEW YEAR to you, too!!
