Who wants **sparkling** Vamps?

So, one of the guys here at the PD(the same one who does the yes dance every time he sees me now! LOL!) wants me to read Twilight and New Moon so we can go to the movies and see it. Yeah, I told him I don't DO sparkly vampires! Of course he said that he would DO Edward(the main guy) any day of the week! LOL!! Idiot! Personally, I don't think the guy that plays Edward is hot...AT ALL!!!
So, I'm thinking of going to the library and seeing if they have it cause lord knows I'm not buying it! Nooo...because then I would have to buy the entire series just because...it's a series! Duh!::P
And then my sister was talking about True Blood. She wants to watch it because it is AWESOME and since one of my stories have vampires in it she thinks it'll give me great ideas! I don't want anyone else's ideas! I want mine and I told her as such! I know True Blood is based off a book series as well. *shrug* I dunno. I know that New Moon(the second Twilight book) has Lycans! LYCANS!!!!! I watched the trailer because he forced me to since he knows how much I ♥ wolves and I gotta say the transformation looks pretty sweet!
Skip all the vampire crap and it starts getting interesting at about 1:20
And then he asked me what the difference between werewolves and Lycans are. I told him it all depends on how the writer portrays them. Me? I think there is a difference while a lot of people think there isn't. One of the main points for me is that Lycans retain their humanity while in wolf form. Werewolves don't.
What say you? WHAT SAY YOU? Man, I need to watch Gladiator again! And LOTR since we were talking about that as well! Yeah, busy night/morning here huh? Did I mention that a few of the guys here caught a murderer wanted out of Jersey? Great job guys! For real! Dude how A LOT of aka's and I wasa researching like no one's business trying to figure out his real name! Blah! Well, he's about to be extradiated back to Jersey to stand trial there. OH!!!!! MY SONG!!!!! ♪Girl ya know I-I-I, Girl ya know I-I-I...don't need no candles and cake...BIRTHDAY SEX!!! BIRTHDAY SEX!!!♪ :D
Aaaand...I think I'm gonna go buy some M&M's and get something to drink before I kick back and watch some Family Guy on the computer! Sounds like a plan eh?

Date: 2009-09-07 07:59 am (UTC)Lol, I think I may be the only person on the planet who read the series and thought it was... okay. Everyone else either swears by it or wishes to purge the world of it. I don't know--I just don't see why there's all this crazed fury over a book. But that's just me.
Yeah, that makes sense about the werewolves and Lycans. Not that I'm any sort of expert, but that sounds pretty good.
Caught a murderer wanted in Jersey? Nice!
Have fun with the M&Ms and Family Guy :D

Date: 2009-09-07 08:07 am (UTC)Soooo....it was okay? I was flipping through the second book at wal-mart and saw it was in first person. I'm usually not a first person reader(which is odd since I'm writing a 1st person story) so that was kinda off putting...besides the SPARKLING vampires!!! Well...I was crazy about HP so I can understand...although I didn't join any HP fandoms either sooo....
LOL!! I mean, that's just something that I came up with! I'M I'm no expert either.
M&M's were good! Family Guy got put on hold because an officer wanted to talk!:P

Date: 2009-09-07 02:49 pm (UTC)And the books, arg, I despise them. The first was bearable. Bad, predicable writing with a wet noodle of a female lead character. The second made me incredibly pissed off that she ever managed to get published let alone became popular because it was so horribly written. And after a chapter of the third, I had to put it down lest I have a coronary. And that's when I decided I want her publicist when I finally get a novel done, because if they can sell that tripe, I could be lazing on the beach of my own private island before next year is out.
True Blood, I have mixed feeling about, mainly because of the bad southern accents and yet another kind of wobbly female lead. Why can't women be tough dammit?

Date: 2009-09-07 03:21 pm (UTC)I have issues with Bella as well. When just looking at the previews for the movie I was like UGH! Who IS this chick? LOL!! I was reading the reviews on amazon and most of the people were talking about the female lead and how she was one dimensional. I hate that.
Tough women don't get the man ya know? Even when there's a tough female lead she pretends to be weak when she first meets the guy. It annoys me incredible. I don't think I'll be wasting my time buying those books. I'll just listen to the cop talk about them instead!:P

Date: 2009-09-07 03:27 pm (UTC)Anyways! I hate watching movies that have a lot of hype behind them, I always think they can't be as good as everyone says. Like for example, I just watched Titanic for the first time like 4 years ago. And I loved it and now own it! Ha ha! But at the time, I didn't think it would interest me and Leo is the same way for me, not that good looking. I always think of What's Eating Gilbert Grape and he just loses the sexiness for me!
Same with Twilight, I hated the hype about it, it can NOT be that good! And then I waited...and waited. And finally broke down and rented it. And damned if I didn't like it! But it's not the best vamp movie I've seen, I want sexual, hot vampy men who have FANGS and want to sink them into my neck! And the sparkly thing is very strange. But overall, I did like the movie and I'll probably see the next one without waiting forever! :D
I have heard that the books are better though, which is usually the case unfortunately.

Date: 2009-09-09 03:43 am (UTC)I do the same thing. Except for with LOTR. I HAD to watch that since I was a HUGE fan! I actually did a count down and went to the midnight viewing right after I got off of work! Good times!! I've never seen what's eating Gilbert Grape! Sad but true!
Ugh! I'll probably break down and rent the movie on amazon since I can't be bothered to actually go to the Blockbuster and set up a new account. LOL!! And I agree! Vamps with fangs and sex appeal are what makes a VAMPIRE!!!! Hello!!!

Date: 2009-09-08 06:15 am (UTC)I have a 10 year old that wanted to read them so being a 'responsible mom':) I decided to read them first. Well speed/skim read them. So far, I haven't let her read them yet and Bella is far from a strong woman and she has a least two men that are always trying to save her from 'danger' Double ugh. Then when you watch the movie don't forget that it is an adaptation of an already cheesy book series - in short, don't take it seriously at all. ;) -Kayvon

Date: 2009-09-09 03:39 am (UTC)The officer was telling me: "And then Bella did this, this, this and then Edward saved her." and "Jaccob saved her!" I was like dude, does she NOT save herself? Annoying! And he did admit that all the guys were all over her for some reason! *shrug*
Haha! Thanks for the heads up!:P

Date: 2009-09-08 10:05 pm (UTC)Trueblood has been getting a lot of hype but I haven't personally watched it. Vampires are becoming so popular. The part about werewolves vs. Lycans, I was going to say the same thing. :)

Date: 2009-09-09 03:38 am (UTC)Yeah, I heard about it but I'm just not into Vamps all that much...unless it involves wolves! LOL!! And I know! Ugh! I was afraid of adding vamps to LT because I didn't want to just jump on the bandwagon but yeah...
Agreed!!!:P
