Making Sims(Males)...
Feb. 15th, 2011 10:20 amSo, this is for
xoxo_qui who wanted to see how I make male Sims. I think she has a thing for Hurley!:P

So, I just spent the last two hours on this guy. Something quick before I head to bed. This is Darrin Underwood. As I was making him I was thinking he's that guy who's any girl's best friend and doesn't even realize that she has the hots for him as he tries to hook her up with her dream guy. Something of a geek so he can be a bit grouchy when disturbed. Yeah, anyways...

I did the clicking thing again until I found a Sim with interesting features. I really look at the jaw area for males because that's where I focus first. I don't know why. This guy's jaw has just the right tilt and angle for me to work with without having to do too much work.

Next, I switch skin tones since it can change the shape of the nose/mouth/eyes which it did. You can see the jaw line a little better now yeah! Darn TS3 and not having good dark skintones ! At this rate I'll never be able to make a self!Sim. Anywho, I also fiddled with the muscle sliders because I like muscular guys now that we have that option.

I changed he eye color and then started shaping the face to how I thought I would like it. Lifting the chin, widening the jaw and head(the head was disproportional to the rest of the body!). I fiddled with the eyes a little bit as well.

I love having a big nose on the Sims. It gives me more options to shorten, widened, etc without distorting the face too much.

I shortened the nose, made the ears slighter smaller and brought his mouth down just a little bit. A very little bit! LOL!! He was looking a little too sweet for me. He needed a rough edge so...

I gave him some chops and a little five o'clock shadow. Believe it or not that's a store hair. Gotta love a_g's default replacement hairs!:) I twirled him around for a bit looking at all the various angles and then realized that his chin was off. It just needed to be a little bit longer. And his nose! It was as cute as a button but he needed that edge so I thinned the bridge and defined the nostrils a bit more.

There we go! And a change of eye color was in order since there was so much brown going on. I added a smattering of freckles on the face, gave his lips some lines, some contour make up again(that make up is my friend!) and Darrin was good to go!

He has the grouch trait! Man, he was going ballistic at his impromptu photo studio! O_o

He got over it.

So yeah! That's about what I do Qui. I don't think he turned out too badly but I might edit him in CAS again once I take a look at him again later tonight. Who knows!?
